When the family decided that Sandeep and I should get married, the first thing that pop into my head was: whose is going to do my hair, my makeup, what will I wear, and what about our photo shoot? I had all sorts of questions popping up in my head. Until I went to Canada in August 2007 for a wedding when Sandeep mentioned Racquel’s name, I had heard a lot about her, until I actually checked out her profile. I was shocked on how beautiful the girls looked and on how everything turned out. Right then I was like I want her for the engagement, the mehndi, the wedding, for everything! Because I knew I wouldn’t find anyone like her here in California. I searched and searched but couldn’t find anyone here that did such a good job as Racquel.
I then decided to contact Racquel and have her booked for the engagement, but unfortunately she was leaving to India. Then we decided to have her come down here for the photo shoot. Racquel flew to California and then we were all just amazed. We were just confused on what we will be wearing, how do I want my hair, but all I knew was I wanted to go to the beach. Racquel is one of a kind, the way she came prepared, knew what she was doing, suggested different outfits we should wear, where we should go, and what she wants. Everything just turned out GREAT. This was our first time having a photo shoot, and Racquel made it worthwhile. It was really fun working with her; she makes you feel very comfortable, and it doesn’t even seem like she’s an outsider. The first day I met her, it felt like I knew her for years. We had such a blast we wanted to do it again, but unfortunately we only get engaged once, lol.
Racquel has so much talent, I can’t even explain nor have any words. My mom felt like she had another daughter when Racquel came to stay with us, she’s funny, family oriented, loving, and fun to talk to, and let’s just say she LOVES Punjabi food. As long as she has daal mahkni, she is all set. I would definitely tell others to have Racquel do your make-up, hair, and/or photography. She is one of the BEST. Not only did she make me look good she made Sandeep look good as well.
After the photo shoot, when we got our pictures we received so many compliments, my own brother couldn’t even recognize me and let’s just say Sandeep couldn’t take his eyes off of me.
I can never forget about the day we had our pre-engagement pictures taken, this will be one of our most memorable days.
