Miss BC 2009 Pageant

This has been a year of amazing news for Studio 26 by Racquel Lacson and we are just hitting the halfway point of 2009. As we enter the second half, we are proud to announce that Studio 26 is a major sponsor for the Miss BC 2009 pageant.

The Miss BC Pageant is an event that recognizes young women for their passion, accomplishments and aspirations. Each year, contestants from across the Province compete for the chance to represent BC in the Miss Canada Pageant.

All contestants receive professional training in modeling, interview skills, public speaking and choregraphy. Last year the Miss BC Pageant raised over $13 000 for the Cops for Cancer division of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Participating in this year's pageant will be our first Miss Studio 26 by Racquel Lacson, Neeta Nagra.

Neeta, 21, was born in Victoria and raised in Williams Lake. She moved to the Lower Mainland after high school graduation at the age of 16. She started off by doing her Bachelors of Science at Douglas College. However, after volunteering and working with agencies such as the Canadian Mental Health Association, Youth Net Delta and Riverview Hospital, her passion changed to working with and helping people who have a mental illness. She is completing the fourth year of her degree in Bachelors of Science in Psychiatric Nursing. Neeta has a passion for making a positive difference in her community and being a role model for the youth of BC.

This year the final show and crowning of Miss B.C. 2009 will take place at the Chief Sepass Theatre in Fort Langley on July 5th at 6:30 pm.
