Skin Care
April 5, 2008

Without proper cleaning of the skin prior to applying make-up, the skin can become thicker/coarser, pores enlarged, and in some cases where the skin can develop acne and blackheads.  It is best to use cleansing milk or crème which is properly pH balanced as a regular cleanser.  An astringent or toner should be used to ensure that all traces of cleanser have been removed.  Finish off with a protective crème or moisturizer.
   CLEANSING  MOISTURIZING  COSMETICS
DRY SKIN  *use mild, soap-free liquid cleanser or "superfatted" cleansing bar *DO NOT USE grainy cleansing products or buffing pads. *select moisturizer that are formulated with glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or dimethicone, which delay moisture loss, preventing further dryness.

*apply moisturizer when skin is still damp to lock in moisture use oil-based foundation and cream or cream-powder blushers.  the oil contained on these mediums will help soften fine lines and wrinkles
use oil-based foundation and cream or cream-powder blushers.  the oil contained on these mediums will help soften fine lines and wrinkles
 OILY SKIN
*clean twice daily using mild liquid cleanser formulated for oily skin * Clinac O.C. astringent no more than twice a day (helps soak up excess oil)

*Cetaphil Cleansing Gel is my personal preference.
choose oil free or oil-in-water moisturizer if you feel the need to use one  use oil free or oil-blotting foundation and powders *powder blushers to stop oily shine and head off breakouts
COMBINATION  cleanser that are made for combination skin  moisturize only where you need it  water based or oil-free foundation
