Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of makeup/hair products do you use?
"Just professional products:  MAC, Bobbi Brown, and Makeup Forever, Stilla, are some of the most common products we have in our kits.   We do like Loreal mascara. On hair, we use Aerosol hair sprays, general setting lotions, hair gel and wax."

What is the difference between your Royalty Service versus the Regular Service?

"Royalty service (i.e. full day) is where we follow you the entire day and provide you with constant touch ups from getting you ready in the morning, following you at the temple, park, Doli, your in-laws, and all the way to your reception party.   The benefit of the Full Day service is that you don't have to worry about buying your own touch up makeup and that you are guaranteed that your makeup stays fresh the whole day.

The Regular service (i.e. non-full day) is where we come and leave when we finish getting you ready.  Clients for this service are responsible for buying their own touch up makeup/lashes for the event."

Will I need to provide my own makeup?
"Yes and No.  Yes, should you have a preference in foundation because you have sensitive skin.  Otherwise, we use our kit.  Should you book us for the Non-Full Day Service, we will provide you a list of your touch up makeup to buy, such us lipstick, lip liner, blotch powder/paper, and blush."

Are there any additional costs that I can anticipate on paying on top of the regular hair and makeup fee?
"The quote we give you includes all your trials and day of services.  However, there are certain possible charges you should be aware such as a Per Hour Waiting Fees, bank check return fees, out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. Parking/Valet fees), per trip travel fees (Abbotsford, Mission, Squamish, etc.), re-booking free for missed trial appointments or less than 2-day cancellations and also out-of-BC client fees (i.e. accommodation, flight, cellular phone usage, per diems, etc.)"

I heard your trial runs (dress rehearsals) are three to six hours long.  Is that true?
"Depending on what you booked us for, the trial can run from three to six hours long.  A typical six hour dress rehearsal is to go over your hair and makeup for both the wedding and reception.  Example:  Once you have your outfit and jewelry together, we book a day (weekday) where you come in to the studio and we do the trial run.   You'll bring with you your jewelry/outfits and we create the look hair and makeup (wedding and reception) on how it is going to look the day of."

How soon should I book my trial run (dress rehearsal) with you?
"As soon as you have your outfit/jewelry together, preferably schedule one to two months prior to your wedding or event day."

Is verbal confirmation enough to secure my wedding day if booking your services?
"There is a 50% Non-refundable/Non-transferable Booking Deposit should you want to secure your event date(s) for our services.  This deposit will be deducted off the balance owing for the service package you decide on.   Please be aware that this deposit is non-refundable /non-transferable should you cancel for any reason, at anytime."

How long will it take for you to get me ready for my event(s)?
"We need at least 2 to 2.5 hours per look to get you ready for your event(s)."

How can I guarantee that you will show up on my wedding day?
"We constantly give follow up calls to our clients.  The morning of your wedding, we give our clients a wake-up call 30 minutes before our arrival.  Set your mind at ease as you prepare yourself on the morning of your wedding knowing we are on our way."

I have four bridesmaids that need their hair and makeup done aside from me.  How early should we start?
"We dedicate our undivided attention to the bride by booking one artist for just herself and having a different artist booked for the rest of the family member(s)/bridesmaids."

Have you ever been late or cancelled on your bride before?
"We take pride at what we do and our client's wedding is just as important to us so we will never cancel unless it's a dying emergency.  For example, one of us were only late once due to an accident on Hwy 99.  The artist was late for 20 minutes and this was for Kam Mann's wedding, August 29, 2004.  Kam was ready on time for her photographer that morning."

Is there anything I can do to prepare my skin/hair for my wedding day?
"Please see the section titled "
Beauty 411"  on the Beauty Essential section of our website."

I have a big scar on my face that I want covered, can you do something about it?
"Anything on your skin that is raised/deep, there is nothing we can do to remove it.  What we can do however, is diffuse that scar and direct the attention somewhere else, such as your eyes by making them look more dramatic.  Should you have pigmentation problems, this can be easily concealed."

How early should we start on my wedding day?
"Knowing that it takes us at least 2 to 2.5 hours to get you ready in the morning, our start time depends on what time you booked your photographer to arrive at your house that morning. For example, if you booked your photographer to arrive at 7am, we can start as early as 4:30 or 5:00 am (average start time for most of our brides).  Your photographer will then arrive just in time should he/she want to take pictures while your Bindiya are placed and your Dupata is pinned."

I want flowers and/or crystals on my hair.  Is this something you provide?
"We bring the hair tools necessary to get your hairstyle done but accessories that are put on your hair should be provided by you."

My hair is thin/short and I know I need a hairpiece to get the full up-do that I want.  Can I provide this to you or do I have to rent from you?
"You are welcome to provide us with your hair piece if you have one already and/or have that option to rent from our collection at anytime."

THANK YOU
